Jan Roland's main contribution to this guitar duo is his composing skill. He loves to make up tunes and take them to Ricardo to play, develop and bring to life. Jan's musical background is mainly classical; he started out playing cornet in a marching band/classical selections orchestra. On a tour of Sweden somebody gave him a guitar and they fell in love. Since then he has played in a variety of bands and small groups: anything from Hawaiian Hula shows to R&B, Blues, Rock & Roll.
Ricardo Dioso is musician with a highly unusual talent. His playing is a unique blend of old-fashioned classical and flamenco and more modern American music styles like rock and country. He has a very well developed musical sense of humor as well, which makes listening to Ricardo a true journey of the soul. Ricardo has toured Canada and the US with various kinds of bands. On a tour of Spain he did mostly solo work. At present he lives on Maui, Hawaii where he regularly performs Spanish and Classical Guitar Serenades and is featured in local Salsa, Samba, Latin Jazz Bands and Flamenco Troupes.
